Congressman Marc Veasey (TX-33) and his House Armed Services Committee (HASC) colleagues advanced out of committee H.R. 7900, the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2023. This package includes provisions supporting foreign relations, improving oversight of the Department of Defense, and bringing jobs to the DFW Metroplex, which Veasey authored and championed.

The bipartisan legislation includes provisions that would:

Authorize Bell V-22 Ospreys
Provide for a pay raise for our troops
Support procurement of the Joint Strike Fighter aircraft
Enhance Civilian Harm Mitigation
Increase oversight of Privatized Military Family Housing Projects
Provide more than $6 billion for the Pacific Deterrence Initiative to continue countering China's rising
influence in the Pacific
Continue support for the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative
Increase U.S Defense cooperation with Somaliland
Support the ALaMO smart ammunition program
Improve Congressional oversight on significant weapon systems sustainment
