"Consumers deserve immediate relief from soaring gas prices, including a break from federal and state taxes. I support state tax cuts commendably proposed by Governor Lamont and legislators, and call again for suspension of the federal tax. Paying an 18.4 cents federal levy adds both injury and insult to already sky high charges at the pump. Rising gasoline prices deeply burden individual lives and livelihoods every day, so both federal and state action is needed right away,"
