U.S. Senator Deb Fischer (R-Neb.) released the following statement today after voting against a massive $1.5 trillion omnibus package:
"Once again, Congress has failed to do its basic job and put together a responsible funding plan for our nation. The American people are paying more and more every day for gas, energy and groceries, with no end in sight. Nebraskans know more excessive Washington spending and special carveouts isn't the way to go. Given that this spending process is a mess, I cannot support this massive package.
"I do support the enhanced funding for our military and needed aid for Ukraine as it battles horrific Russian aggression. The Russians' barbarism is shocking to our collective conscience, but it is sadly not surprising with Vladimir Putin in charge. The U.S. and our allies must continue to work together to hold this war criminal accountable."
