REP. TED BUDD HELPS INTRODUCE BILL TO SUPPORT VICTIMS OF ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT CRIME

Today, Rep. Ted Budd (R-NC) helped introduce the Victims Of Immigration Crime Engagement (VOICE) Restoration Act.

The bill resurrects and codifies the Victims of Immigration Crime Engagement (VOICE) Office inside the Department of Homeland Security. The office was created in 2017 by the Trump administration to connect victims of crimes committed by illegal aliens with support services. The office was dismantled by the Biden administration in 2021.

The bill was led by Rep. Jack Bergman (R-MI).

Rep. Budd said in a statement:

"The victims of crimes committed by illegal aliens must never be forgotten. The tragedies that far too many American families have experienced are heartbreaking. While we work to prevent future tragedies by enforcing the law on the border and holding sanctuary cities accountable, we need to help these families connect with the resources that they need. I'd like to thank Rep. Bergman for his leadership on such an important piece of legislation."
