Today, Rep. Ted Budd (R-NC) accepted the Guardian of Seniors' Rights Award from the 60 Plus Association, one of the nation's leading non-partisan organizations dedicated to protecting the rights of America's senior citizens.

Rep. Budd said in a statement:

"I'd like to thank the 60 Plus Association for this award. Protecting the rights of seniors, securing Social Security and Medicare's solvency, and eliminating the death tax are among my top priorities in Washington. I will remain committed to standing up for our seniors for as long as I hold public office."

60 Plus Association President Saul Anuzis said:

"We appreciate Congressman Budd's willingness to fight for senior citizens. Congressman Budd is a legislator with great integrity and our nation's elderly know he can be depended on. From his voting record we know he'll always protect Social Security and Medicare. And so many seniors struggling on fixed incomes appreciate his work to end the wasteful spending of our tax dollars."
