Today, Congresswoman Sylvia Garcia (TX-29) announced she has been appointed to the powerful House Armed Services Committee following a vote by the full Democratic Caucus.

"I'm honored to be appointed as a member of the House Armed Services Committee. Texas and the Houston area both have deep military ties and a strong servicemember presence -- I look forward to advocating for all the personnel who are defending our nation," said Congresswoman Garcia. "Ensuring our military has the proper resources needed to serve our country is critical."
