Congresswoman Sara Jacobs (D-CA-53) releases the following statement on President Biden's nomination of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson for the United States Supreme Court:

"I enthusiastically applaud President Biden's nomination of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson for the Supreme Court. With Judge Brown's impeccable credentials and vitally important experience as a public defender and on the DC Circuit Court, she is not only a historic choice, but the right one.

"Judge Brown will make history as the first Black woman on the Supreme Court - but this is also about the future. The only way we can ensure liberty and justice for all is to have a legal system where all people are seen and heard - from local courts to the Supreme Court. Having Judge Brown on the Supreme Court brings us one step closer to a legal system where the standing of all people are affirmed. America needs Judge Brown on the Supreme Court and I look forward to her timely confirmation."
