Cassidy Announces $26.5 Million in Hurricane Relief

U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) today announced the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will grant Louisiana a total of $26,512,481.29 in relief for Hurricane Laura, Hurricane Ida, and the 2016 floods. The Baker School System, the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury, the City of Gonzales, Washington Parish, the Louisiana Office of Emergency Preparedness, and Jefferson Parish will all benefit from the relief.

"Louisiana has been battered by storm after storm," said Dr. Cassidy. "Funding needs to be delivered quicker, but this $26.5 million is welcome as we work to get our communities fully back on their feet."
