Today, Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney (NY-18) and Rep. Antonio Delgado (NY-19) released the following statement, celebrating the usage of CARES Act funding to provide rent and utility relief to low- and medium- income households in Dutchess County. Reps. Maloney and Delgado both voted for the CARES Act and other critical legislation that supported county governments throughout the pandemic and delivered the necessary resources to make programs like this a reality.
"We fought for local governments in the COVID recovery packages to ensure our communities could get the targeted relief they need, including with rent and utilities," said Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney (NY-18). "I am thrilled that Dutchess County is putting these resources to good use to help families in need. It's thanks to the critical funding delivered by the CARES Act and other relief programs that we are starting to get back to normal."
"From the very beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, we fought for relief funds that would go directly to our communities," said. Rep. Delgado (NY-19). "It is great to see this funding, that we secured in the CARES Act, being used to assist folks with rent and utilities. I am proud to have pushed for this legislation and other relief programs that have been delivering for our upstate communities and helping us recover."
