Proclamation - Juvenile Arthritis Awareness Week

WHEREAS, more than 70 million Americans, of all ages, experience the pain and fatigue of arthritis and related conditions; and

WHEREAS, more than 300,000 American children have arthritis; and

WHEREAS, in North Dakota, more than 148,000 people have arthritis, many of them are children; and

WHEREAS, the North Central Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation offers help and hope to individuals affected by this devastating disease; and

WHEREAS, North Dakotans are encouraged to support the efforts of the Arthritis Foundation and its partners throughout our state to increase awareness about juvenile arthritis and the resources available to help families, so their children can live life more easily and with less pain.

NOW, THEREFORE, as Governor of the State of North Dakota, I do hereby proclaim March 5-11, 2006, JUVENILE ARTHRITIS AWARENESS WEEK in the state of North Dakota.
