Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart Praises Unanimous Court Ruling in Favor of Military Recruiters

WASHINGTON—Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL) praised today's unanimous ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court that colleges and universities that receive federal money must allow military recruiters on their campuses.

"Several college campuses have been claiming to support free speech but then have banned military recruiters from being on their campuses," Diaz-Balart said. "This practice has been a horrible disservice to students, the military and our nation's constitutional freedoms. It is shocking that universities, such as Yale, would welcome members of the Taliban's leadership while locking out the very people who help defend this country.

"I am glad the Supreme Court has ruled so decisively against this embarrassing and offensive practice by several college administrators."
