U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is working to create more flexible job opportunities for military spouses.

Sen. Ossoff is working to pass the bipartisan Military Spouse Licensing Relief Act, which would require states to recognize the professional licenses of military spouses from other states when their family's duty station changes.

In many cases under current law, military spouses whose work requires a professional license ---- like teachers, nurses, electricians, and lawyers ---- must obtain a new professional license every time they move to a new state.

"Georgia military spouses need and deserve the flexibility to do their jobs and earn income while their families may move from time-to-time around the country. That's why I'm working with colleagues from both parties to advance this bill," Sen. Ossoff said.

For the 25,443 military spouses in Georgia, the Military Spouse Licensing Relief Act will ensure that their Georgia professional licenses are valid when they relocate to another state with their family.
