Hirono Statement on Senate Republicans Blocking the Women's Health Reproduction Act

Today, Senator Mazie K. Hirono (D-HI) released the following statement on Senate Republicans blocking H.R. 3755, the House-passed Women's Health Protection Act (WHPA), from advancing to a final vote in the Senate. Senator Hirono co-sponsored this bill's Senate companion, S. 1975.
"Yet again, Republicans have chosen politics over everything else and will not even allow a vote on the Women's Health Protection Act.
"Abortion bans ruin lives. I am fed up with oppressive attacks preventing access to safe, legal abortions. Abortion care is health care--and we must continue to fight back and protect the constitutional right to control our own bodies."
