Press Release

Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) joined Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) and U.S. Representative Elise Stefanik (R-NY), along with more than 100 of their Senate and House colleagues, in sending a letter to the Office of Inspector General for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to conduct a comprehensive review of the decisions made by the Biden Administration that have led to the worst border crisis in United States history.

"To date, the Biden Administration has not meaningfully complied with congressional oversight of the 2021 border crisis," the lawmakers wrote. "This lack of information hinders Congress' ability to effectively legislate solutions to both fix the immediate crisis and to ensure that political considerations do not outweigh national security in the future. The Inspector General is best positioned to provide such apolitical oversight and report to Congress such findings."
