This is a moment of great pride & patriotism for our nation, as Judge Jackson makes history as the first Black woman nominated to the Supreme Court. She will also be the first federal public defender to serve on the Court & will bring extensive courtroom experience to the bench.

Judge Jackson will be a force for justice on the Court, with masterful command of the law and outstanding credentials. After beginning her career as a clerk for Justice Breyer, she will carry on his mission to preserve the Court's role as a defender of our rights and freedoms.
