Jenniffer Gonzalez Announces $34.3 Million in Funds for Arts Organisations and Health Programs on the Island

The resident commissioner, Jenniffer González Colón, announced a new reserve that adds $34,353,327 in federal funds for Puerto Rico, which will support the mitigation of the pandemic in artistic organizations and the continuity of health programs on the Island.
"I congratulate the 5 arts organizations in Puerto Rico that applied and today I am pleased to announce that they were awarded with federal assistance under the National Endowment for the Arts. In total, it was $500,000 to support these organizations with COVID mitigation, "said the commissioner on her social networks.
González Colón detailed the item of funds corresponding to each organization; The Arturo Somohano Foundation receives $150,000, the Documentary Association of Puerto Rico $150,000, Cuarzo Blanco $50,000, DanzActiva $50,000 and the National Foundation for Popular Culture $100,000.
The funds will serve to support the costs of personnel and facilities in general, response and recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
In total, 567 artistic organizations around the nation benefit from this provision that is given under the funds of the American Rescue Plan or American Rescue Plan (Public Law 117-02).
In addition, $33,853,327 in new funds were allocated to under the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
Under the Head Start program, the Municipality of Barceloneta "Early Head Start" receives $11,435,056, San Juan receives $7,091,155, Centros Sor Isolina Ferre $5,423,232, the Quintana Baptist Church head start program $4,415,108, the Municipality of Manatí $2,823.34 and Boys and Girls Club $2,631,088.
In addition, under the office of the National Center for the Prevention of HIV, Viral Hepatitis, STDs and Tuberculosis of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Department of Education of Puerto Rico received the gift of $34,347 for the program of Adolescent Health Promotion through HIV/STD Prevention at School.
The Municipality of San Juan will also receive $3,368,602 under the HIV Emergency Relief Project Grants
