Thompson Opposes Debt Ceiling Increase

Following passage of S.610, an increase to the federal debt ceiling, U.S. Representative Glenn "GT" Thompson released the following statement:

"It is clear that Democrat leadership in the House and Senate lack the ability to make sound fiscal policy and have resorted to changing the rules of the game to get a vote on raising the debt ceiling.

I cannot in good conscience support a plan that does not include dramatic steps to reduce and reform federal spending. This is unacceptable and will only continue to burden future generations with crippling debt."
