U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, M.D. issued the following statement after the first COVID-19 Omicron variant case was detected in the state of Kansas.
"COVID cases in Kansas continue to rise, and now more than ever with the first Omicron variant case detected in the state, we need seniors and those with underlying health conditions to talk to their doctor or trusted pharmacist about getting their booster shot as soon as possible," said Senator Marshall. "The Omicron variant must be taken seriously, and with the booster shot you are 10 times less likely to be infected with COVID. I urge all seniors and folks with underlying health conditions to talk to your doctor or trusted pharmacist and consider getting the booster shot to safeguard your health this holiday season."
