USMCA PANEL FINDS CANADA IN BREACH OF OBLIGATIONS TO U.S. DAIRY INDUSTRY

Statement

Date: Jan. 5, 2022
Location: Washington, DC

This week, a United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) panel found Canada in breach of its obligations to the U.S. dairy industry. This is a huge victory for U.S. dairy producers and follows the successful efforts from Representative David G. Valadao and his colleagues to enforce the agreement.

"I'm glad the USMCA panel settled in favor of the United States in this important proceeding," said Congressman Valadao. "This trade agreement was negotiated to benefit America and Canada alike, and it is critical that U.S. dairy exporters are not unfairly restricted. The panel's landmark decision will allow American dairy farmers and manufacturers to enjoy the fair competition they are entitled to."
