Bipartisan Delgado Bill Cutting Red Tape for Small Businesses Passes Through Committee

Today, U.S. Representative Antonio Delgado's (NY-19) One Stop Shop for Small Business Compliance Act passed through the House Committee on Small Business. This bipartisan legislation would create a centralized website for small business owners in NY-19 and across the country to access user-friendly compliance guides and assistance for regulations across all federal agencies. Delgado and U.S. Representative Beth Van Duyne (TX-24) introduced this bill in 2021.

Federal agencies are required to publish small business compliance guides for certain regulations; these guides are housed on different agency websites--making it difficult for small businesses to find and utilize them. The One Stop Shop for Small Business Compliance Act would make these guides more accessible by creating a centralized, online "one-stop-shop" for small business owners. Rep. Delgado spoke in support of the legislation during today's committee hearing.

"As upstate small businesses continue to navigate the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, they should be able to easily access the resources available to help them," said Rep. Delgado. "Our commonsense, bipartisan legislation will create a centralized, online resource to support small businesses and self-owned employers. I thank Congresswoman Van Duyne for her partnership on this effort and am proud to see it pass through the Small Business Committee today. I will keep pushing to pass our bill through the House of Representatives and to get it to the President's desk."
