Case Announces $339 Million In Federal Assistance For Critical Hawaii Bridge Projects

Congressman Ed Case (HI-01) today announced that Hawai"i is receiving another major round of funding from the historic $1 trillion Bipartisan Infrastructure Package (BIP) passed by Congress and signed into law by President Biden in late 2021.

"This second round of funding under BIP amounts to $339 million over five years, with $68 million set for release this year, that will go to critical bridge and culvert projects throughout the State of Hawai"i," said Case, a member of the House Appropriations Committee responsible for allocating funding each year for federal government agencies, departments and organizations.

"These are the latest of many disbursements to Hawai'i under BIP, the largest federal reinvestment ever in our backbone infrastructure across the country," said Case. "BIP will eventually deliver some $3 billion to our state for roads and bridges, water infrastructure, climate resilience projects, access to the Internet and much more."
