Statement

Date: Jan. 10, 2022
Location: Washington, DC

Today, members of the Republican Healthy Future Task Force Subcommittee on Treatments, Bruce Westerman (R-Ark.), Congressmen Brad Wenstrup, D.P.M., (R-Ohio), and John Joyce, M.D., (R-Penn.), released a Request for Information (RFI) from health care stakeholders and other interested parties. The expert feedback received will help inform legislation to supercharge the availability and development of life-saving treatments, devices, and diagnostics while addressing rising patient costs.

"Seeking input from stakeholders is the first step in our push to ensure patient access to innovative treatments, prioritize medical innovation, and secure the United States as a leader in the field," said Rep. Westerman. "Republicans are committed to finding cures and lowering costs for all Americans through public-private partnerships. There is no limit to what our nation can accomplish when we encourage and empower the innovative spirit of the American economy."
