QUIGLEY ALS LEGISLATION TO RECEIVE HOUSE VOTE

Statement

Date: Dec. 6, 2021

Today, U.S. Representative Mike Quigley (IL-05) shared a statement after House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer announced that ACT for ALS will be considered on the House floor this Wednesday. ACT for ALS, or the Accelerating Access to Critical Therapies for ALS Act, would help people living with ALS get early access to promising treatments and help researchers gain a better understanding of neurodegenerative diseases.

Quigley's statement is below:

"I am incredibly grateful to the House Energy & Commerce Committee, who favorably reported the ACT for ALS, and to House leadership for ensuring that the bill finally receives a vote on the floor. For those who are impacted by this disease, there is simply no time to wait. I have been incredibly moved by their stories, their perseverance, and their unflagging optimism in the face of a devastating disease. I cannot wait to stand on the House floor and cast my vote on behalf of every American who has championed this legislation."
