USDA RURAL DEVELOPMENT AWARDS MORE THAN $7 MILLION FOR WATER SERVICE IN BLAND COUNTY

Statement

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development awarded a grant of $3,840,000 and a loan of $3,203,000, a total of $7,043,000, to the Bland County Service Authority for improvements to the water distribution system. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement:

"Safe and reliable water infrastructure contributes to a community's health and quality of life. USDA Rural Development's award of more than $7 million for improvements to water distribution in Bland County will provide needed upgrades to the county's water system and benefit the county's citizens.
