Congressman Henry Cuellar (TX-28) secured $21,116 in federal funding for the city of Mission to assist their police officers in gaining accreditation to ensure compliance with national and international standards for law enforcement policies and procedures. The funding comes as part of the Biden Administration's efforts to advance the practice of community policing in law enforcement.
"We must continue to invest in resources to reduce crime and build trust between our law enforcement and the communities they serve. These federal funds will assist our officers in gaining accreditation in policies and procedures--practices that are essential for effective and humane every-day law enforcement. Our goal is to provide Mission residents with the quality policing they deserve," said Congressman Cuellar. "I continue to utilize my seat on the House Appropriations Committee to secure funding for our local law enforcement agencies and provide them with resources, both tangible and non-tangible, that allow them to perform their jobs in a more effective and safe manner."
