Gov. Rounds Supports U.S.-Mexico Cement Agreement
Gov. Mike Rounds announced his support of a federal agreement in principle on cement trade between the U.S. and Mexican governments that was signed yesterday during a ceremony in Washington, D.C.
Gov. Rounds became engaged in the issue last summer when a cement shortage began to have an effect on construction in South Dakota. "This agreement is a positive step forward to solve a trade dispute that has existed for sixteen years," said Rounds. "The result will be increased access for our businesses to the Mexican market of gray portland cement."
