Dingell Tours Ypsilanti Electrify America Charging Station with Ford

Today, Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (MI-12) toured the Electrify America charging station in Ypsilanti, Michigan, along with representatives from Ford, to discuss the impact that the billions in funding for electric vehicle charging infrastructure from the bipartisan infrastructure law will have on Michigan and the nation.

"In August, President Biden announced an ambitious goal to make half of all new vehicles sold in 2030 zero-emissions vehicles. I stood at the White House with him, automakers, auto workers, and environmentalists who came together to commit to this goal," said Dingell. "It's simple: If we're going to hit this goal, we've got to invest in electric vehicle charging infrastructure. The funding in the bipartisan infrastructure law is a huge first step to building this infrastructure here in Michigan, where we built the world on wheels, and across the country. I was grateful to tour the Electrify America charging station in Ypsi today, along with my friends from Ford who brought their Mach-E for us to try out. Both Electrify America and Ford understand how critical it is to invest in electric vehicle infrastructure, not only for business but to protect the environment, boost American jobs, and keep America at the forefront of innovation and technology."
