Congressman Roger Williams (TX-25) introduced the All Jobs Are Essential Act which deems every American job essential and prevents governmental entities from designating essential and nonessential professions.
"The COVID-19 pandemic led to some of the most drastic levels of government overreach in our nation's history. During the pandemic, federal, local, and state governments determined which businesses could remain open by deeming certain professions to be "essential.' This designation had a devastating impact on Americans' ability to earn a paycheck, setting back countless families who relied upon a designated "non-essential' job to provide for their loved ones," said Congressman Williams. "This government intervention prevented Americans from supporting themselves and their families throughout the pandemic and unnecessarily drove workers into federal assistance programs. The government has no business picking winners and losers. Every job is essential, and I will continue to fight back against government overreach, and the Democrat party's incessant focus on making Americans reliant on government."
