English/ Español: Rubio Welcomes Signing of RENACER Act

Statement

U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) issued the following statement after President Joe Biden signed the Reinforcing Nicaragua's Adherence to Conditions for Electoral Reform (RENACER) Act, co-authored by Rubio, into law.

"Following Sunday's sham elections in Nicaragua, the United States is sending an important message to the Ortega-Murillo authoritarian dynasty and to their enablers: we will not turn a blind eye," Rubio said. "I want to thank my colleagues both in the House and the Senate for getting this bill to the President's desk last week."

Rubio is the Ranking Member of the Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on Western Hemisphere, Transnational Crime, Civilian Security, Democracy, Human Rights, and Global Women's Issues.
