Proclamation - Supply Management Month

WHEREAS, the supply management professional plays an integral role in the overall operations of every organization, large or small, private or public, for-profit or non-profit, throughout the world; and

WHEREAS, supply management professionals explore business opportunities and implement supply strategies that deliver the most value possible to the organization, its suppliers and customers; and

WHEREAS, the supply management professional engages in or has direct responsibility for functions such as contract development and administration, negotiations, transportation and logistics, inventory control, strategic planning, relationship management, supplier sourcing, supplier evaluation, economic forecasting, and materials management; and

WHEREAS, supply management activities directly impact an organization's profitability and operational success; and

WHEREAS, North Dakota citizens are encouraged to recognize the important role supply management professionals play in helping to build stronger and more efficient organizations and business partnerships in the state.

NOW, THEREFORE, as Governor of the State of North Dakota, I do hereby proclaim March 2006, SUPPLY MANAGEMENT MONTH in the state of North Dakota.
