Rep. Budd-Sponsored Bill to Expand State Opioid Response Passes House

Today, H.R. 2379, the State Opioid Response Grant Authorization Act passed the House of Representatives. Rep. Ted Budd (R-NC) was a sponsor of this bipartisan legislation.

The bill will expand the State Opioid Response Grant Program to include the battle against all substance abuse, and extend the program until fiscal year 2027. The bill also expands access to medication assisted treatment.

Rep. Budd said in a statement:

"The State Opioid Response Grant Program has been a key tool to award competitive grants to help states battle the opioid crisis. This bill would extend and expand this program to help reduce addiction deaths in our state and our country, and I'm glad to see it pass the House today."
