Rep. Ron Estes (R-Kansas) announced a Department of Justice (DOJ) Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) of $443,481 to Sedgwick County. This grant aims to improve public safety by providing state and local jurisdictions with recourses to enhance community safety.

"Public safety and reducing crime are top priorities for the community and leaders alike," said Rep. Estes. "Ensuring our law enforcement has adequate resources allows police officers to handle bad actors better and leads to a safer Sedgwick County."
