Congresswoman Elise Stefanik released a statement after Attorney General Merrick Garland instructed the Department of Justice (DOJ) to crack down on "threats" as parental advocacy has increased over the institution of mask mandates and Critical Race Theory in classrooms.

"President Biden is weaponizing the Department of Justice to go after those Americans who disagree with his radical Far-Left agenda.

"Yesterday's announcement from Attorney General Garland is unconstitutional and an assault on Americans' First Amendment right to assemble.

"Parents who advocated against Critical Race Theory being taught to their children are NOT domestic terrorists. They are concerned parents.

"Critical Race Theory is NOT history. It's an ideological agenda meant to divide us."
