Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) - Rep. Adriano Espaillat Encourages Eligible Constituents to Apply for Covid-19 Emergency Rent Assistance

Representative Adriano Espaillat (NY-13) released the following statement advising constituents of New York's 13 congressional district that the Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) is available and advised tenants to apply for resources to help households that cannot pay rent and utilities because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Communities were ravaged by the COVID-19 pandemic, which impacted every facet of our daily lives from transportation and access to services, education and well-being of our youth, jobs, employment, and housing," said Rep. Espaillat. "As we continue along this path of recovery, it remains critical that residents know that emergency funding is available to provide rental assistance to help keep constituents in their homes. I encourage all who are eligible to apply and to not delay in taking full advantage of these critical resources to help get families and our communities back on track."

The Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) was created to provide significant economic relief to low and moderate-income households at risk of experiencing homelessness or housing instability due to the COVID-19 pandemic by providing owed rent, temporary rental assistance and help paying owed utilities.
