Rep. Ted Budd (R-NC) has co-sponsored H.R. 1115, the Global War on Terrorism Memorial Location Act. The bill establishes that the location of the Global War on Terrorism War Memorial would be constructed on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.
The bipartisan bill is a follow up to the Global War on Terrorism War Memorial Act, which was signed into law by President Trump in 2017.
Rep. Budd said in a statement:
"Since 2001, the service and sacrifice of members of our military, civil servants, civilian support personnel, and their families has been nothing short of extraordinary. Their efforts have helped prevent another major terrorist attack on our homeland for 20 years. A memorial to these patriots belongs on the National Mall in our nation's capital."
