Following the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) announcement that Operable Unit 8, a portion of the Libby Asbestos Superfund site, will be removed from the EPA's National Priorities List (NPL), U.S. Senator Steve Daines released the following statement.
"It's great to see continued positive progress in the cleanup process at the Libby Asbestos Superfund site," Daines said. "I'm grateful for the work that the EPA and local partners have done over the years to create a safer, healthier community for the residents of Libby and Troy."
Operable Unit 8, which is the US Hwy 2 and MT Hwy 37 corridors, is the third operable unit of the Libby Asbestos Superfund Site to be delisted.
