Griffith Announces More Than $2.5 Million In Arc Power Grants For Southwest Virginia Organizations

Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) today announced that the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) has awarded more than $2.5 million in Partnerships for Opportunity and Workforce and Economic Revitalization (POWER) grants for Southwest Virginia organizations. The award amounts, organizations, and purposes for the awards are:

$1,500,000 to Appalachian Community Capital for a capital access program across Central Appalachia
$1,000,000 to Virginia Coalfield Coalition for a broadband program in Buchanan and Tazewell Counties
$50,000 to the City of Pikeville for the Pikeville/Breaks Tourism Partnership project with Buchanan County
$49,875 to LENOWISCO for a feasibility study for an ag-tech tool for specialty grains
"Today's announcement of $2,599,875 in ARC POWER grants is great news for the region. These funds will expand our broadband access and will help support the ongoing efforts for business and technological innovation throughout the area."
