"On Monday August 23rd, the National Labor Relations Board certified the vote by Colectivo Workers to unionize. The workers at Colectivo now make up the largest café workers union in the country. I couldn't be prouder of the efforts of the workers, organizers, and IBEW in their effort to make this a reality. This will be a huge step forward in the fight for good wages and safe working conditions for service sector employees. This has been a long and difficult fight and I congratulate you all in your success.

I encourage the owners of Colectivo to follow through with their statement in the letter they issued after the certification of the vote and bargain in good faith with the representatives of the newly formed bargaining group in achieving a fair and equitable contract."
