Washington, D.C. -- Rep. Ted Budd (R-NC) has sponsored H.R. 3577, the United States Army Rangers Veterans of World War II Congressional Gold Medal Act. This bipartisan bill would award the Congressional Gold Medal to the U.S. Army Rangers who served in World War II.

The Senate version of the bill passed the chamber last Congress and is currently sponsored by North Carolina Sens. Richard Burr and Thom Tillis.

Rep. Budd said in a statement:

"U.S. Army Rangers are some of America's most elite soldiers and they were involved in the most important and intense missions during World War II. Their efforts led to the ultimate victory of freedom over fascism. Their valor, skill, and bravery will live forever. I am proud to sponsor this bipartisan bill that would award these heroes with Congress's highest honor."
