Washington, D.C. -- Rep. Ted Budd (R-NC) joined more than 150 House members to help introduce legislation that would posthumously award the Congressional Gold Medal to the 13 U.S. military servicemembers who were killed in Afghanistan last week.
The bill was led by Rep. Lisa McClain (R-MI).
Rep. Budd said in a statement:
"These brave men and women put themselves in harm's way to save others. They are the best of our country and we are forever in their debt. I am proud to help introduce a bipartisan bill that would award these heroes with Congress's highest honor."
