Washington, D.C. -- Rep. Ted Budd (R-NC) has co-sponsored H.R. 4433, the Veterans Entrepreneurship Act. This bipartisan bill would create a pilot program at the Small Business Administration (SBA) to reward 250 veterans with grants that they could use to start or acquire a small business or franchise over a three year period. Grantees would be required to complete certified training programs specific to their field prior to receiving the grant funds.

The bill was originally introduced by Rep. Ben Cline (R-VA).

Rep. Ted Budd said in a statement:

"Our veterans' service and sacrifice is something our country should always repay when these brave men and women return to the homefront. A critical way we can do that is to help them achieve economic opportunity and independence through starting their own business. I'd like to thank Rep. Cline for leading a bill that would give our vets an economic boost."
