U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff's co-sponsored legislation to upgrade Georgia's public school buildings passed as part of the bipartisan infrastructure bill in the U.S. Senate.
The Renew America's Schools Act will provide $500 million over five years to upgrade public school facilities in Georgia and nationwide, including:
Facility improvements for air quality, daylighting, ventilation, and lighting upgrades;
Installation of renewable energy technologies to power school systems; and
Purchase of zero-emissions vehicles and infrastructure.
"Good news for Georgia's kids, parents, and teachers -- the Senate has passed our bipartisan bill to upgrade Georgia's public schools so school facilities are newer, safer, better, and healthier," Sen. Ossoff said.
