Today, Rep. Gregory W. Meeks, Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, issued the following statement regarding King Abdullah II of Jordan's meeting with Members of the Committee:
"I was pleased to welcome His Majesty, King Abdullah II, to a meeting with Members of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, where we discussed the important bilateral relationship between Jordan and the United States. We discussed further strengthening our strategic partnership, cooperating on our shared regional challenges, and our mutual desire to promote peace and prosperity across the Middle East. Jordan is a dependable partner and ally to the United States, and I commend the King for engaging in constructive dialogue with Members of the Committee."
