Maryland Congressional Delegation Announces More Than $1.2 Million in American Rescue Plan Funding to Support Local Fire and EMS Departments Across Baltimore and Central Maryland

Today, U.S. Senators Chris Van Hollen and Ben Cardin and Congressmen Steny H. Hoyer, Dutch Ruppersberger, John Sarbanes, Kweisi Mfume, Anthony Brown, and Jamie Raskin (all D-Md.) announced $1,201,379 in American Rescue Plan funding to support fire and emergency rescue departments across the Baltimore region.

"Maryland's fire and rescue teams risk their lives every single day to protect our communities -- and worked overtime to deliver life-saving care during the COVID-19 pandemic," the lawmakers said. "This new round of federal funding will provide our first responders with the supplies and equipment they need to keep Marylanders safe. We will keep working to secure the federal resources that our fire and rescue departments need to serve our communities."
