Rep. Mace Cosponsors Bipartisan Bill to Ban Mink Farming

Press Release

Date: July 2, 2021
Location: Washington, DC

This week, Congresswoman Nancy Mace (SC-01) and her colleagues introduced legislation to ban the farming of minks for their fur. This practice would end the cruel treatment of these animals and eliminate a major source of new COVID-19 variants.

"The farming of Mink used for fur production is inhumane," Mace said. "This practice is not only an animal welfare concern, but a public health one too. America has suffered enough throughout this pandemic, and there is no need to continue an abusive animal practice that puts American's health at risk through the mink's high susceptibility to COVID-19."
