House Foreign Affairs Committee Member Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick released the following statement on the assassination of the President of Haiti, Jovenel Moïse:

"The assassination of Haitian President Jovenel Moïse must be fully condemned, and the perpetrators of this reprehensible murder must be brought to justice. We are praying for first lady Martine Moïse's full recovery. The United States will stand by the people of Haiti during this difficult time and will work with the Haitian people to bring peace and stability to a country in turmoil."
