Today, Representative Austin Scott (GA-08) released the below statement upon the Department of Justice (DOJ) announcing a new lawsuit suing the State of Georgia over SB 202, which implemented election reforms in Georgia:
"The Biden Department of Justice is suing Georgia over our election reforms that make it easier to vote and harder to cheat. They create more opportunities for Georgians to vote and better secure elections by requiring identification for mail-in ballots, just as you have to show an ID to vote in-person in Georgia. This lawsuit is nothing more than a liberal agenda to remove all voter ID laws in our country," said Rep. Scott.
