Rep. Roy's statement on Vice President Kamala Harris' upcoming border visit

On Wednesday, Rep. Chip Roy (TX-21) released the following statement in response to Kamala Harris' announcement that she will finally visit the full blown humanitarian crisis at the southern border after months of ignoring it:

"I guess "Border Czar' Kamala Harris read my memo outlining the need to visit the border. She found the border, but has not offered any border solutions - because despite having been informed what they would be, she chooses instead the crass cynicism of political policy-making, pushing the false compassion of open-borders that cost so many lives, American and migrant.

If she was really serious about visiting the border she would be going to each sector - especially the RGV sector which sees more illegal crossing than any other. I hope this won't be just another photo op, winking to those pushing for border security, while laughing off this crisis in the media.

I hope her visit to the border brings this Administration to the light on the real needs of American citizens and the innocent migrants being harmed by this self-inflicted crisis."
