Capito Announces $244,100 for Low-Income Housing in Berkeley County

WASHINGTON, DC (2/14)- Congresswoman Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) today announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture has awarded a Self-Help Housing Technical Assistance Grant of $244,100 to benefit Berkeley County, West Virginia. The funding provides self-help housing assistance to nine families, and represents a significant contribution for an Eastern Panhandle area known for rising housing costs.

"These types of grants are one of the most effective methods to allow all our West Virginia citizens to share in the joy of home ownership," said Capito, "From pouring the foundation to the last nail, it provides a true sense of community and accomplishment. I look forward to further success for this program with this funding."
