"We made history by signing a bill to make Juneteenth a federal holiday. It is important as Americans that we all know the significance of this day to our country. I am grateful to be in the position to cast this vote and join President Biden as he signed the bill into law. Juneteenth honors our ancestors and reminds us of their sacrifices. May we continue to uplift the history of African Americans and their contributions to our country," said Congresswoman Hayes.
